Cover Letter In this unit, we were given the question with the Meadows or Malls. We were asked whether the town should use the new open fields to keep as meadows or build malls and other things for commercial use on it. We used many different things to answer this question, such as matrix, linear equations, as well as planes with an x, y, z. With all of these systems, we learned how to do them with multiple variables. This was helpful, considering there were more than two variables in the essential question. In my portfolio, I used the worksheet we did for systems of elimination because that helped us solve problems with more than one variable. I also used the worksheet for substitution because of the same reason. For an example of matrices, I used a worksheet we did for finding solutions for them and turning a system of equations into a matrix. A worksheet I found challenging was the matrix multiplication one. I had a lot of trouble putting the word problems into a matrix. The POW I used was POW 5. This is the POW I was most proud of. All of these pieces of work helped us answer the essential question by helping us to compile our information and solve it to find which option would be the best use.
Reflection I enjoyed this unit a little more than the others. It was pretty fun and I really understood a lot of it, which made it much easier. The cookies unit helped me understand how to do a lot of the things we did. I learned how to do matrices, linear equations, and planes to help me. We also used geometry so that we could figure out the highest points and the best points. I can now use substitution and elimination to solve linear equations.
